Meizu 16T was unveiled on October 23 at a conference in Beijing. This is the company’s first smartphone aimed at gamers. It is equipped with a linear vibrating motor and Game mode 4.0. To improve the gaming experience, Meizu has partnered with Chinese giant Tencent.

Meizu 16T is powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 (7nm) processor with an operating frequency of up to 2.84GHz and Adreno 640 graphics accelerator, combined with 6 or 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128/256GB UFS 3.0 flash memory.

Like the previous 16-series models, this one has very thin symmetrical frames at the top and bottom of the display. Meizu 16T has a glass body and a 6.5-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 18.6:9 and a resolution of 1080×2232 pixels, brightness up to 600 nits and color gamut DCI-P3. This is Samsung’s third generation OLED panels, and the screen has a German TÜV Rheinland certificate for eye protection from harmful blue light, which is reduced by 58%. The display has a Super mTouch built-in fingerprint reader, which takes only 0.2 seconds to unlock the device. Despite the large screen and battery, the phone measures 159.63×78.2×8.3 millimeters and weighs only 183 grams.

The rear camera of the Meizu 16T is triple, located vertically. The main sensor is a 12MP Sony IMX362 with an f/1.9 aperture and PDAF. Additional sensors are the deep 5-megapixel Samsung 5E9 ƒ/1.9 and the ultra-wide 118° Samsung 4H7 8MP ƒ/2.2. The camera supports intelligent scene recognition, portrait mode (bokeh effect), super night scene (manual shooting and tripod), 2.5 cm super macro photos, automatic HDR, 4K 60 frames per second video and 240 frames per second slow motion video.

The 16MP ƒ/2.2 selfie camera is located in the thin upper bezel. Supports beauty algorithm, portrait mode, automatic HDR, phone unlock by face recognition, selfie super night scene.

Battery is Li-Po with a capacity of 4500mAh and 18W fast charging mCharge via USB Type-C interface. Meizu 16T has two stereo speakers for perfect and loud sound and a 3.5 mm audio jack. It comes pre-installed with Android 9.0 Pie and a stable version of Flyme 7, but there is also a Flyme 8 beta version available. Available in three color options – orange/red, blue/black and green.
