Meizu 16Xs: Plastic body with a coral color

There are three days left until the conference in Beijing and the official presentation of the Meizu 16Xs. Today the company released a new warm-up poster on this occasion.

Most of the specifications of the new smartphone are known. The color variants are also known – black, blue with a gradient and coral. Live coral has been declared the color of 2019 by Pantone. So from Meizu definitely follow the modern trends, and this is a gesture to the female audience.

Despite the 6.2-inch display, triple rear camera and 4000mAh battery, Meizu 16Xs will weigh only 165 grams. This will be achieved through a plastic body, for many a disadvantage.

And here comes the pleasant surprise. This time the back of the phone will not be made of polycarbonate, but of polymethyl methacrylate (plexiglass). A very good solution. Both the resemblance of a glass back with all its advantages, both less weight and greater reliability.

Plexiglas is a very strong polymer and will not break even when falling from a great height. The glass panels are quite beautiful, but the Internet is already full of user photos of dropped phones with broken backs.
