Meizu 18 and 18 Pro appearance announced: Centrally perforated micro-curved screens with different sizes

This morning, invitations were sent to the conferences for the presentation of Flyme 9 and Meizu 18 5G series, which will take place on March 2 and 3 respectively, at the Dzuhai Grand Theater. Apparently Meizu has a lot to tell us once they have split the presentations into two days. The retrospective on the occasion of the company’s 18th anniversary will be broadcasted online on March 1.

The first real photos of the two phones were officially published today, which proved the rumors about a centered hole in the display where the selfie camera is located. The poster shows that Meizu 18 and Meizu 18 Pro will have curved screens.

Curved screens have their supporters but many users do not like them. The good thing about the Meizu 18 series is that they will be 2.75D (micro-curved screens). The curve is slightly larger than that of most phones on the market, which is 2.5D, and smaller than the typical for Samsung phones – 3D. Recently, a trend of smartphones with an even larger and steeper curve, the so-called “waterfall displays”, has emerged. They look quite attractive, but how comfortable they are is not clear.

The photos also show that Meizu 18 and Meizu 18 Pro will have different display sizes, unlike last year’s Meizu 17 series, in which both models were the same size. This confirms the rumors that Meizu 18 will have a 6.2-inch screen.

From the 3C certification we know for sure that Meizu 18 will support a maximum charging power of 36W, and Meizu 18 Pro – up to 40W. This in combination with the smaller screen of Meizu 18 means that its battery will have a smaller capacity (probably up to 4000mAh), and hence less weight of the phone, which is its main selling point. The more affordable price is also not to be overlooked. Meizu 18 Pro will excel in performance, camera, screen, battery, etc.
