Today it became clear the date on which we will see Meizu 17 5G. The conference will be held on May 8 in Zhuhai. It is also certain that we will see two new flagships, most likely Meizu 17 and Meizu 17 Pro, as the invitations say Meizu 17 series. The company assured that they will work overtime during the official holidays in May, so that the produced units meet the expectations.
The invitations are shaped like a ballot box, the opening of which resembles the horizontal rear camera of the phones. The ballot box, in turn, contains newsletters with publications from the bbs.meizu.cn (Meizu community). These publications list some of the unique features of the company’s phones and the Flyme user interface – mBack; mEngine; Dark mode, which was developed before AOSP (Android Open Source Project), etc.
What is quite certain so far about the new models M081Q and M091Q? They will support 5G mobile communication and Wi-Fi 6 standard for wireless networks. They will be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC and X55 5G modem, UFS 3.0 or UFS 3.1 flash memory and a horizontal linear vibromotor. The selfie camera will be in a hole in the display. The rear camera will be horizontal. The battery will have a capacity of 4500mAh, in addition to the mSmart 5G function to reduce power consumption.
It is almost certain that they will have 6.5-inch Full HD+ AMOLED displays with a refresh rate of 90Hz and a built-in fingerprint sensor. Meizu 17 will support 30W wired fast charging, while the Pro version 40W. They will have two stereo speakers and an NFC module. It is also very likely that the new 17 Series will be waterproof. Hua Hailiang recently hinted at this by asking on his Weibo profile if this extra is desirable for today’s phones.
The countdown to the conference has begun, and Meizu has assured that they will find us some information about the new smartphones every day.
