Today, Chinese media reported that Zhuhai Meizu Technology has won the title of “Unicorn Enterprise of 2018”, chosen by the municipal party committee and the municipal government. Meizu is already one of the five unicorn enterprises in Zhuhai.

In addition, the company won the prestigious “Second Prize for National Scientific and Technological Progress for 2018”, awarded by the Chinese government for the project “Key Technologies and Industrialization of High-Permeability Magnetic Substrate”. This China’s award is given for the application of advanced scientific and technological achievements and the implementation of important scientific and technological work plans. The total number of awards per year is not more than 400, which are divided into three categories: special award, first prize and second prize.

The award-winning Meizu project is a successful joint research and development activity with Chengdu University of Electronic Science and Technology. The project implements the environmentally friendly and inexpensive mass production process of substrate materials and through cooperation with industry breaks the patent monopoly of foreign applications in this area through independent intellectual property rights over the preparation of materials, device and application of equipment. The current daily production of materials used by many local mobile phone brands can meet the needs of 600,000 phones.
