Meizu’s latest flagship was unveiled at a conference in Zhuhai yesterday, along with Flyme 8 and some accessories. Meizu 16s Pro is an upgraded version of Meizu 16s, which was announced in May this year.
Meizu 16s Pro is all glass, with a metal frame between the two panels. It is only 7.65 mm thick and weighs 166 grams. The smartphone is equipped with HD+ 6.2-inch Super AMOLED display, with a resolution of 2232×1080 pixels at an aspect ratio of 18.6:9, blue light filtering, DC dimming and 160Hz touch sampling rate (the number of times a touchscreen can sense input from your finger in a second). There is no notch in the display, but it has super thin upper and lower bezels and offers an incredible screen space of 91.53 percent. The phone’s display has a built-in Super mTouch fingerprint screen scanner, which is 25% faster than Meizu 16s.
Meizu 16s Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 855+ mobile platform, equipped with a 2.96GHz octa-core processor and Adreno 640 graphics processor, which provides 15% more performance than the Snapdragon 855. Available with 6 or 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128/256GB UFS 3.0 internal memory.
The triple rear camera has a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 main sensor with a wide f/1.7 aperture and OIS, a 20-megapixel IMX350 f/2.4 and a 117-degree ultra-wide 16-megapixel IMX481 f/2.2. Finally, we see what leaked as renderings some time ago – one sensor is located inside the ring-shaped LED flash. The camera offers features such as enhanced Super night scene, portrait mode, intelligent scene recognition, HDR, 4K video recording at 60 frames per second and slow motion recording at 480 frames per second, as well as threefold zoom without loss of quality and 8x digital zoom.
The 20-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL Slim 3T2 selfie camera, which is placed in the thin panel on the front, is equipped with Meizu’s ArcSoft algorithm and artificial intelligence, HDR with real-time viewing of the final effect and supports unlocking by facial recognition.
In addition, the phone has two new generation speakers, tactile vibrator mEngine 3.0, two SIM cards, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, dual frequency GPS, NFC module and USB-C.
Meizu 16s Pro comes with Android 9 Pie, but not with a stable, but with a beta version of the newly introduced Flyme 8. The stable update of the company’s user interface should be received in November, after the beta tests are completed. The battery has a capacity of 3600mAh and supports 24W fast charging. The phone will be available in four colors – white, mirror black, twilight forest (green) and fantasy unicorn (white with gradients).
