At today’s conference in Beijing, we officially saw Meizu 16Xs, the company’s new mid-range phone. The smartphone is an affordable version of the Meizu 16s flagship, with a similar symmetrical design, a fingerprint sensor in the display and one of the lightest phones with a 4000mAh battery. And with Meizu 16Xs the company runs away from the notches, as the selfie camera is located in a very narrow upper bezel.
The unknowns about the chipset model and the main sensor of the rear triple camera also became clear. The processor is from the middle class – Snapdragon 675 from Qualcomm, and the camera uses the 48-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL GM1 f/1.7. The second sensor is 5MP f/1.9 and the third is 8MP wide angle.
The price of Meizu 16Xs is very decent. The 6GB/64GB version costs 1,698 yuan (about $246) and the 6GB/128GB costs 1998 yuan ($290). Naturally for the global market it will be a little higher.
In addition to Meizu 16Xs, the conference also featured the new Meizu EP2C headphones with Type-C interface, as well as accessories for fans from the Meizu Planet Exploration series – a mouse and keyboard stand, and a canvas bag.
