Today, Meizu introduced its latest mid-range phone – Meizu Note 9. After the company released its first notched phone in September 2018 – Meizu X8, we now see the first with a water drop notch.
Meizu Note 9 has a plastic body with a metal frame, dimensions 153.11×74.34×8.65mm and weighs only 169.7 grams. The display is IPS LCD 6.2-inch 18.7:9, full HD+ with a resolution of 1080×2244 pixels. The screen to body ratio is 89.23%.
Note 9 is powered by the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 (11nm) with 2GHz operating frequency and Adreno 612 graphics processor, combined with 4GB or 6GB of RAM.
The super-small slot in the display houses the 20-megapixel f/2.0 selfie camera, the same as in the Meizu 16th series, with an ArcSoft image enhancement algorithm. On the rear left panel is a vertical dual camera. It includes the main 48-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL Bright GM1 sensor with a wide aperture of f/1.7, a pixel size of 1.6μm and an additional 5MP depth sensor. Note 9 comes with support for shooting night scenes.
The fingerprint sensor is on the back. Meizu Note 9 also has an option for face unlock – version 3.0, allowing unlocking even in bad conditions. It also supports two 4G VoLTE SIM cards, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4GHz/5GHz), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS + GLONASS, USB-C and a 3.5mm audio jack.
Meizu Note 9 is currently available in three versions, depending on the amount of RAM and internal space – 4GB RAM/64GB storage, 4GB/128GB and 6GB/64GB, and their prices are respectively 208 dollars for the first and 238 dollars for the second two versions. There is no microSD card slot.
The battery has a capacity of 4000mAh. The charger with support for 18W fast charging is included in the set, unlike phones from other manufacturers. Meizu Note 9 comes with Android 9 Pie, wrapped in Flyme 7.2, with the company’s One Mind artificial intelligence, Game Mode 3.0 and the new Hyper Gaming technology.
