Meizu conference is just a few hours away, where Meizu 21, MYVU AR smart glasses (MYVU, the new XR brand of Xingji Meizu Group), Flyme AR system, PANDAER products and more will be presented. On the eve of the long-awaited event, let’s remember an interesting fact about the Zhuhai-based company.
On January 10, 2016, Meizu fans and employees jointly created a world record for the longest selfie relay chain, writing Meizu Technology into the history of Guinness. At the Zhuhai International Circuit, 400 fans and 186 Meizu employees successfully completed the challenge using Meizu mobile phones. On the day of the event, the company’s building was decorated with a banner reading: “Meizu fans, welcome home!”.
The requirements were for each participant to take a solo selfie and then a selfie with the next participant. The last and first participants completed the relay. Photos had to be of good quality, including the entire head and neck of the persons. Also, there was a time limit on each selfie. After the challenge was completed, Guinness staff reviewed all the photos, and the result was announced at the “Let’s Party” that night.
The record is published on page 196 of the magazine Guinness World Records 2017, section SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY / CONSUMER TECH.
