At the World Mobile Congress in 2017, the Chinese manufacturer Meizu presented its new technology Super mCharge 55W. It allows a full charge of 3000mAh battery in just 20 minutes.
For this purpose, the smartphone that will support this technology will be equipped with a battery specially developed by Meizu, which will withstand the large current supplied by Super mCharge. The data cable has also been redesigned. The new module can carry up to 160W of power – three times the safe limit.
Despite the high power, the phone will heat up to 38-39° C, just above body temperature. For comparison, Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 18W reaches 44° C (values were obtained at room temperature of 22° C). This will make it possible to charge the phone while playing or watching videos.
Meizu claims that the battery will retain 80% of its capacity after 800 full charges and discharges.
