At the seventh edition of the China Mobile Design Contest, held today in Heian, Guangdong, Meizu 16s Pro and Nubia Z20 shared the award in the category of Most Aesthetic Design for 2019.
Meizu 16s Pro was highly praised for not following the trends for notches or display holes for the selfie camera, but for using a full-screen display with super-thin symmetrical bezels, as well as for the beautiful rear-facing camera module layout. Nubia Z20 won the sympathy for the second display on the back.
The Chinese mobile design competition started in 2012. Since 2014 The Chinese Mobile Innovation Week and the Chinese Mobile Design Competition are held every year with the Swan Awards selection.
The Swan Award is an award for innovation in industrial design in the field of smart terminals (including smartphones, smart hardware, solutions, APP development, etc.). Mobile Swan Award is the highest award in the Chinese mobile phone industry.
Four mobile phones won the highest Swan Award – Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G, Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus 5G, Vivo NEX 3 5G and OPPO Reno 10x zoom.
Ten phones received individual awards in five categories:
1. Best 5G mobile phone
Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G and ZTE Axon 10 Pro 5G
2. Phone with the best camera
Huawei P30 Pro and Honor 20 Pro
3. Phone with the most aesthetic design
Meizu 16s Pro and Nubia Z20
4. Best technological innovation
Nubia Red Magic 3S and Hisense A5
5. Best mobile phone with artificial intelligence
Sugar s30 and Smartwasp P1
