As the name suggests, Meizu 17 Aircraft Carrier Limited Edition smartphone is inspired by China’s first aircraft carrier Shandong, number 17 (CV-17). To pay its respects, in collaboration with the Chinese State Shipyard (CSSC), Meizu has released a limited edition dedicated to those who love the ocean.
The CV-17 is entirely designed and constructed by the CSSC and is the largest warship built in China to date. This is the country’s second aircraft carrier. The first, Liaoning, was a reconstructed Soviet, purchased from Ukraine. Construction of Shandong began in 2013. and lasts for almost four years. More than three years of water tests and finishing works follow, and on December 17, 2019. has been officially put into operation. The pride of the Chinese navy and the local shipbuilding industry can carry 36 J-15 fighters, 50% more than its predecessor.
As with any collector’s edition the company has emphasized the details. The glass back of Meizu 17 Aircraft Carrier Limited Edition is marked with the aircraft carrier’s graphics, and the surface of the glass is chemically treated by an AG (anti-glare) process to avoid glare. A custom theme has also been developed. Wallpapers, system application icons, and animations also carry the spirit of CV-17. The package also includes a set of personalized metal badges. The case, the power adapter and the SIM card removal needle are also themed. The number 17, which is the common denominator between the Meizu series and the aircraft carrier number, is also present everywhere.
