Meizu 18X was introduced today along with Meizu 18s and Meizu 18s Pro, the updated Flyme 9.2 company’s interface and many more products from the Lipro and PANDAER series.
Meizu 18X has a 6.67-inch 2.5D OLED screen, which this time is not from Samsung, but most likely from a Chinese manufacturer. The aspect ratio is 20:9 and the resolution is 1080×2400 pixels.
The display with a 395ppi pixel density and a peak brightness of 700nit supports 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and 360Hz sampling rate. It is also the company’s first smartphone with a 10-bit display that can reproduce over 1.07 billion colors.
The back cover is made of frosted glass, and this time the side frame adopts a design with straight sides. The weight of the phone is only 189 grams and its dimensions are 76.3×165.1×7.99mm.
Meizu 18X is powered by the 8-core 7nm mobile platform Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 5G with Kryo 585 architecture and up to 3.2GHz maximum frequency; Adreno 650 graphics processor; Hexagon 698 DSP AIE; Spectra 480 ISP; LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 flash memory. It supports Bluetooth 5.2, 2.4G/5G Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi 6.
The phone is cooled by a copper tube and a graphene heat dissipating layer so that gamers do not have to worry.
It is available in 8/128GB, 8/256GB and 12/256GB configurations RAM and ROM, respectively, but there is a possibility to virtually extend the operative memory up to 19GB. Depending on the configuration, Meizu 18X sells for 2599, 2799 and 2999 yuan (just over 400, 430 and 460 dollars).
Unlocking with fingerprints on Meizu 18X is done through an optical sensor and Super mTouch in just 0.15 seconds. Unfortunately, here the tactile feedback is not made by a horizontal linear vibromotor. Also, the phone comes with only one linear speaker. The NFC module is also missing.
Meizu 18X is equipped with a triple rear camera with artificial intelligence, DarkVision Night Scene and other extras. The main sensor is 64MP Samsung ISOCELL GW3 with 1.4μm pixel size, wide aperture ƒ/1.79 and 26mm equivalent focal length. The wide-angle sensor is 8MP HYNIX Hi846 ƒ/2.2 and an equivalent focal length of 15mm, and the bokeh effect is provided by 2MP BF2253L ƒ/2.4 with an equivalent focal length of 79mm.
The front camera is 13MP ƒ/2.0 with backlight HDR selfie, super night scene and other features.
The battery of Meizu 18X has a capacity of 4300mAh, which through the company’s Super mCharge 30W can be charged up to 70% in 30 minutes and fully charged in one hour. It supports basic charging protocols – PD and QC. This phone also follows the already established trend to be sold without a charger adapter included.
Meizu 18X comes pre-installed with the company’s Flyme 9.2 interface based on Android 11. It is available in three color options, and this time the company again delights fans of the white front panel.
