Yesterday, Meizu company launched a new accessory from the luxury Lifeme series. Meizu Lifeme PD Fast Charging Cable is aimed at Apple users. The new cable is USB-PD (Power Delivery) compatible and has USB Type-C to Lightning interface. Supports up to 3A magnitude and charging power up to 18W, which corresponds to 5V/3A 15W and 9V/2A 18W as standard.
The coating of Meizu Lifeme PD Fast Charging Cable is made of TPE (thermoplastic elastomer). It has great strength and elasticity and has been successfully tested on 5,000 bends and 10,000 insertions and removals. It is 1 meter long and is available in white. Sold in China for 69 yuan (nearly $10).
The cable has MFi certification and this justifies its higher price. MFi (Made for iPhone, iPad, iPod) certification dates back to 2005. To do this, the products must pass Apple compliance tests, which ensures that they are of good quality and tested for safety (overheating) and durability. Accordingly, manufacturers pay fees to Apple and receive the right to place the certification badge on the packaging of their products. Each Lightning connector on an MFi certified cable or other device has a small authentication chip. For example, your iPhone knows that this is an MFi certified accessory.
Meizu Lifeme PD Fast Charging Cable is compatible with 14 models from the Apple product range – iPhone SE 2020, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XS, iPhone XR, iPhone X, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 8, iPad Pro 12.9″(2nd generation), iPad Pro 11″ (2nd generation), iPad Air (3rd generation) and iPad mini (5th generation).
