This year, the company Meizu Technology turned 19 years old, the official fan club MY+ (Meiyou) turned 12 years old, and the company’s interface Flyme turned 10 years old.
The planned celebration of these anniversaries was postponed due to the covid restrictions in China. Finally, the company announced that it is inviting fans from all over the country to gather on December 23rd in Zhuhai. At the Meizu Meiyou conference, the annual fan award ceremony will be held, new products will also be introduced.
“In the past 19 years, Meizu has experienced the leap from the MP3 era to the smartphone era, accompanying and witnessing the growth of a generation. Meiyou culture is a spontaneously formed loving connection.”, Meizu wrote, adding that inspired by MY+ across the country, they are replacing the “+” with the infinity symbol “∞”
As we already know, Meizu didn’t launch any new phones this year. The planned Meizu 19 series was postponed to the first quarter of 2023 due to the acquisition of a controlling stake by the company Xingji Shidai Technology (a subsidiary of Geely Holding Group).
Meanwhile, it has been rumored that the Meizu 19 series will be skipped and we will see directly Meizu 20. There is no official confirmation of these rumors at this stage. For now, the only thing certain is that the new flagship series will be equipped with the leading Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform.
A few days ago, the company’s new UP2040 charger passed 3C certification. The charger has a charging power of up to 80W, which suggests that the Meizu 19 (or Meizu 20) series will also support such a wired charging power.
We are looking forward to the Meizu Meiyou 2022 conference. We hope that the company will lift the curtain a little and learn some official news about the Meizu 19 (20) series, as well as about the new version of the company’s Flyme 10 interface.
