Meizu has recently applied for a patent (CN113725959A) related to a shunt three-cell battery charge and discharge control system, the control method and electronic equipment. The goal is to reduce the serious heating of the phone while the battery is charging quickly.
Let us recall that Meizu presented its new technology Super mCharge 55W at the World Mobile Congress in Barcelona in 2017. It allows a full charge of 3000mAh battery in just 20 minutes, while the battery retains 80% of its capacity after 800 full charges and discharges. However, a real application of the Super mCharge 55W was never reached.
So far, the company’s fastest phone charge is 40W with Meizu 18 Pro and Meizu 18s Pro. The next generation of flagship smartphones from the Meizu 19 series will certainly come with increased charging power, but what it will be, remains to be seen.
