This year, it is very likely that Meizu will not produce more new phone models and will be left with only Meizu 17 and Meizu 17 Pro, after last year they announced that they will shrink their product line and focus on profitability through mid to high-end smartphones. But there is still time until the end of 2020…
The company recently released two new colors of the Meizu 17 5G series – AG Field Green and AG Interstellar Gray. They are similar to the existing green and gray, but have an Anti-Glare (AG) chemical treatment of the glass back in order to matte the surface and avoid glare, as well as non-retention of fingerprints.
At the expense of the smaller number of smartphones from Meizu have decided to expand their ecosystem with more than the so-called wearable products. The company’s first full smart watch will be introduced in the fourth quarter. So far there is not much information about it, except that it will have a specially developed operating system Flyme for Watch. It will most likely have a rectangular shape, judging by the posters that were published on Meizu’s official Weibo profile.
Recall that in mid-2016 we saw the hybrid Meizu MIX – a luxury analog watch with a Swiss movement, equipped with some smart features such as notifications for calls and messages, pedometer and more. And at the end of 2016 was presented the first fitness bracelet Meizu H1 SmartBand. It was solved quite interestingly, with a monolithic design and a built-in OLED display in the strap.
