The Meizu 16 series from yesterday was officially joined by Meizu 16Xs. Unlike most other phone manufacturers, Meizu continues to oppose the notches in the display. Meizu 16Xs again has a symmetrical design, with super thin side bezels and fine bezels at the top and bottom of the screen.
The new smartphone is equipped with a 6.2-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display from Samsung with a resolution of 1080×2232 pixels, with an enviable screen to body ratio of 90.29%, an aspect ratio of 18.6:9, and is certified by VDE for protection from harmful blue light, reduced by 33%, which protects the eyes and reduces tension in them. The display also integrates a fingerprint sensor with a recognition speed of less than 0.2 seconds, thanks to Super mTouch, and with support for AliPay and WeChat payment. This time the NFC payment module is missing.
The upper bezel houses a 16-megapixel selfie camera with an aperture of f/2.2, HDR+, AI algorithm for beautification, portrait mode and fast unlocking by facial recognition – in just 0.2 seconds. Under the hood, the device receives a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 (11nm) mobile platform with eight Kryo 460 cores clocked at 2.0GHz and an Adreno 612 graphics accelerator, 6GB RAM LPDDR4X and 64GB/128GB storage.
Meizu 16Xs is also the company’s first phone with a triple rear camera. The main sensor is a 48MP Samsung ISOCELL Bright GM1 with f/1.7 aperture. Additional sensors are an 8-megapixel f/2.2, 118.8° ultra-wide angle with an equivalent focal length of 13mm and a 5MP monochrome sensor with f/1.9 aperture. The camera supports portrait mode, HDR, dual Super night scene (hand and tripod), PDAF.
The body is made of Plexiglas and aluminum frame, and with saturated colors, thanks to new application technologies. At the same time Meizu 16Xs weighs only 165 grams and measures 152×74.4×8.35mm. The device is equipped with a 4000mAh battery with 18w mCharge support for fast charging. The 3.5 mm jack is also present here, but the company has also provided the new EP2C headphones with USB Type-C interface and built-in DAC.
Meizu 16Xs comes pre-installed with the improved Flyme 7.3, based on Android 9 Pie, with One Mind 3.0 and Hyper Gaming. The phone has two SIM cards Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB Type-C. Its sale starts on June 10, and the color options are white, coral, black and blue with a gradient.
