Yesterday, Meizu officially unveiled its new subbrand Lipro, with which enters the AIoT market. As expected, Lipro is an acronym for Life and Professional. The presentation showed the first eight products designed to make our home smart and healthy.
The birth of the Meizu Lipro health lighting series was provoked by a report on eye health by the National Health Commission, according to which about 600 million Chinese citizens have eye diseases. Many of these eye problems are due to prolonged stay in rooms with artificial lighting.
Nowadays, more expensive LED luminaires have a high color rendering index (CRI) – Ra97. The color rendering index reflects the ability of the light source to realistically display the colors of objects. The highest value of Ra100 has daylight. For comparison, this index for mass cheap LED lamps is around Ra80.
But while the color rendering index is responsible for the correct vision of colors in artificial light, its high value is not enough to protect our eyes from damage. Other important factors are the visible oscillation (stroboscopic effect) and the risk groups for blue light (RG). According to the risk of retinal damage from blue light, light sources are classified into four groups – RG0 (safe), RG1 (low risk), RG2 (moderate risk) and RG3 (high risk).
It is these requirements that Meizu has set itself the goal of meeting their new Lipro brand products – healthy, intelligent and with a minimalist “sculptural design” (maximum content with a minimum number of lines). Let us recall that the general product manager of Lipro is J. Wong himself – the founder of the company.
