Yesterday, Meizu released a survey for users to share their impressions of the Flyme user interface. The questions are related to the origin of the name, the ease of pronunciation, the associations it creates for users and its possible change.
Q7: What do you think of the name Flyme?
Q8: What do you think is the origin of the name Flyme?
Q9: What do you think is the shortcoming of the name Flyme?
Q10: After Meizu establishes the ecological triangle of mobile phones, AR, and automobiles connected by the new OS, do you think the new OS should continue to be named Flyme?
Q11: If you were to give the new OS a new name, what would you like it to be?
As we know, currently Meizu’s OS for smartphones is called Flyme, for cars it is Flyme Auto, for smart home connection it uses Lipro Home app. Chinese smartphone manufacturers have begun to do more in-depth development of their firmwares, with the aim of unifying their entire ecosystem. Accordingly, they give new names to these OS, such as Xiaomi’s Hyper OS.
It should be noted that Meizu fans are emotionally attached to the name Flyme, which has been used for more than 11 years. It also sounds too good and highlights the lightness of the OS. Recently, however, the company has promoted the terms Unbounded (Wuyue) and Infinite. Could the new OS be called Infinity?
