About half a year after the release of Flyme 8, Meizu is about to release a new stable version of its company firmware. At the conference yesterday was presented the updated and improved user interface Flyme 8.1 based on Android 10, with which comes pre-installed the new company’s flagships – Meizu 17 and Meizu 17 Pro.
Improvements come in several directions:
• Small Window Mode 2.1
Many small improvements, as well as compatibility with all major applications;
• OneMind 4.0
Limit the number of awakenings, and hence the frequent awakening of the processor for a short period of time, which extends the battery life. When the application is running in the background, the sampling rate is automatically reduced to reduce power consumption, and the normal response rate is restored after switching to the foreground;
• King of Glory gaming vibration
Improved mEngine vibrations when playing “King of Glory”. Supports Meizu 17 Pro, 17, 16s Pro, 16s, 16th Plus, 16th (models with linear vibromotor);
• Screen
Added new styles with home screen customization, fingerprint unlock, new dynamic wallpapers;
• Dark mode
Night mode is adapted to the Android standard;
• Input method
Improved association with emojis and word prediction when chatting;
• WeChat
Improved screen size, one-click sharing, efficient and convenient chatting with WeChat;
• Aicy
New and softer voices in the Aicy voice assistant that no longer sound so cold;
• And many other improvements in mBack, camera, gallery, settings…
And here’s some great news! For the first time in a long time, in addition to an update to Flyme, we will have one on the Android version. Meizu has assured that the next ten models will receive Flyme 8.1 and Android 10 – 16T, 16s Pro, 16s, 16th/16th Plus, 16Xs, Note 9, X8, Note 8 and 16 (16X).
What’s especially interesting here is that the Meizu 16th, 16th Plus, X8, Note 8 and 16 (16X) currently have Android 8 pre-installed. Does this mean a direct update to Android 10?
Of course, this is the Chinese firmware. And whether the global will receive these updates remains to be seen.
