Today, Meizu Technology started 2020 with two flagship 5G smartphones, Meizu 17 and Meizu 17 Pro, as well as many new accessories. The conference was held in a specially built construction near the company’s headquarters in Zhuhai.
The company remains true to its individual and minimalist design. The phones have super thin bezels, and the bottom is only 3.3 millimeters. Meizu 17 Pro is the company’s most powerful flagship for the first half of 2020, while Meizu 17 comes as a slightly cheaper alternative. Meizu 17 and Meizu 17 Pro are the first Meizu phones with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9, as well as a selfie camera located in a hole in the display, reduced to only 2.99 millimeters in diameter. For the first time we have a quad rear camera located horizontally. The main sensor is 64MP Sony IMX686.
Meizu 17 comes with prices in China respectively 3699 yuan (about 525 dollars) for the version 8GB RAM + 128GB ROM and 3999 yuan (about 565 dollars) for 8GB RAM + 256GB ROM. Meizu 17 Pro is priced at 4,299 yuan (about $605) for 8GB RAM + 128GB ROM and 4,699 yuan (about $665) for 12GB RAM + 256GB ROM.
In addition to the company’s collector’s products two versions were presented, Meizu 17 and Meizu 17 Pro, respectively.

Meizu 17 Pro Hsiao Fang Art Edition
Meizu 17 Pro received a super luxurious azure version, made in collaboration with the legendary Taiwanese workshop Hsiao Fang Pottery.

The three-port GaN charger is super powerful, supports 65W fast charging, as well as multiple fast charging protocols (QC3.0, FCP, PD3.0, AFC, PPS, PE2.0). Its dimensions are 35% smaller than those of the traditional 61W charger. Meizu GaN 65W has one USB-A and two USB-C interfaces, each of which can achieve a maximum power of 65W when used alone.
The new Meizu USB-C external 10000mAh battery is equipped with a USB-A output and USB-C input and output. Its charging power can reach 22.5W and has a digital display showing the remaining capacity and charging power.
