This year’s flagship model of the company Meizu 17 Pro was awarded the CMC Swan Award 2020 in the Best 5G mobile phone category. The annual award ceremony for the winners of the Chinese Mobile Design Competition took place in early November. To ensure a good user experience, 5G mobile phone manufacturers face many challenges, such as product ecology, design, cooling, battery life – all qualities that Meizu 17 Pro has.
At the end of October, Meizu 17 Pro also won the Good Design Award 2020 in the category of Cameras, mobile phones and tablets. The event is organized by the Japan Institute for Design Promotion (JDP). Meizu 17 Pro won the jury with its beautiful appearance and fine symmetrically shaped ceramic back with minimized risk of breakage when dropped, made in collaboration with Hsiao Fang Pottery Art.

Earlier this year, Meizu Zero was awarded the highest prize at the International Design Forum held in Germany – iF Gold Award 2020 in the Product category. Meizu Zero is the first smartphone in the world that does not have any openings. There is no SIM card slot, it only works with eSIM. No charging port, only wireless charging. It supports 18W charging power, which is the fastest wireless charging at the time of its introduction. There are no speaker openings, as they have been replaced by a piezoelectric transducer under the display – mSound 2.0.
Last November, Meizu 16s Pro grabbed the CMC Swan Award 2019 in the Most Aesthetic Design category, ignoring trends to place the selfie camera in a notch (bangs or waterdrop) or in a hole in the display. Pop-up smartphones were also in vogue. However, Meizu 16s Pro kept the company’s iconic design with super-thin symmetrical bezels and a selfie camera located in the upper bezel.
Meizu HALO Laser Bluetooth Headset and Meizu Flow 3-Driver Hybrid Earphones won the iF Design Award 2019.
Meizu Flow 3-Driver hybrid headphones, developed in collaboration with the Institute of Acoustics at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, use balanced midrange and treble drivers and a dynamic bass driver that offers more powerful bass sound. Added to this is a bass venting system for even deeper bass.
Meizu HALO Bluetooth headphones are very attractive because of the expensive Corning Fibrance optical fiber used, which is illuminated by laser diodes from Osram in the rhythm of the music listened to. Another original solution is the magnet moving along the cable, to which the remote control of the headphones is attached for convenience during calls.
Meizu 15 and Meizu 16th were awarded the Red Dot Design Award 2019. The Red Dot Award has a tradition of over 60 years. The first annual design competition was held in 1955. in Essen, Germany. Today, with more than 18,000 applications per year from design professionals, companies and organizations from over 70 countries, Red Dot is one of the largest and most famous design competitions. In addition to the new home in Essen, which offers 4,000 m2 of exhibition space, exhibits of products, prototypes and concepts can also be seen in museums in Singapore and China.
Meizu 15 impresses the jury with a back cover made of surgical stainless steel and aluminum alloy. The display bezels are very narrow and are in harmony with the symmetrically designed body. The device is unlocked by face recognition. The 20-megapixel front camera enhances selfie photos with AI technology.
Meizu 16th offers a high-quality 6-inch Super AMOLED COF screen, the glass is curved on the side and connects attractively with the aluminum frame. This effect is emphasized by the extremely narrow display bezels. With a thickness of 7.3 mm, the smartphone looks relatively thin. The device is unlocked by fingerprint recognition, and the sensor is located at the bottom of the screen, which is easily accessible and comfortable for the thumb.
In 2018, Meizu PRO 7 was awarded the iF Design Award for its “Omni-Dimensional” design, developed in collaboration with Frog Design, as well as for a customized second touchscreen display with a high pixel density.
